Emails are regularly sent out by the President and email is the preferred communication method because it is the most efficient and least expensive manner to keep members updated. However, for those members who don’t have an email address, a calling committee has been established and someone will contact you to keep you updated.
3-4 meetings are held each year. The first meeting of the year typically occurs in late September or early October. This first meeting may include the Open Practice or the Open Practice will be the second meeting of the Year. At the Open Practice, the players are introduced and there is an opportunity to ask questions of the team. The team is then excused and then Coach Murphy will make remarks and Club business will follow before the meeting is concluded. The second or third meeting of the year will be held in January or early February and is generally held at the Practice Facility and is an Open House. Coach Murphy and the rest of the coaching staff conducts a tour of the facility and shows members any improvements to it. He will talk about the team and the upcoming season before club business is discussed and then the meeting ends.
Every member will receive regular communications and is invited to attend Club meetings held over the course of each year as part of their membership benefits. The Benefit Items per level change on a regular basis so please review the membership form for the details.
It is quite popular to join the Club in order to obtain a parking permit to park in the lot closest to the stadium. Since parking is limited, the issuance of permits is based first on membership levels beginning with Crimson, then Grand Slam, and finally, Home Run. One pass is included for Home Run members and up to two passes are included for Crimson and Grand Slam level members. The process for distributing passes is based on those memberships dealing first with Crimson, Grand Slam, and then Home Run while supplies last. The date the application is used to determine which members receive passes within the Home Run level so fans are encouraged to join as soon as the membership period opens on 10/1 each year.
The Crimson level offers a benefit exclusive to their level, the Crimson Softball Clinic. The clinic will offer several “stations”: hitting, pitching, training, nutrition, motivation, field experience and photograph with Coach Murphy. The stations will be led by the members of the coaching staff and at the conclusion of the clinic will be a reception. You may not be interested in hitting a ball but getting an opportunity for that “insider” perspective…what it’s like to be a member of the Alabama Softball team might be really fun. Wouldn’t you be interested in learning how the trainers help the players avoid injury or get back on the field as quickly as possible or what the nutritionist does to help the players eat and drink so their bodies perform at their very best level? How about seeing the same motivational video the players view to help with that aspect of playing as a championship athlete?!
